Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening is a common procedure most of our patients have had performed.  Teeth Whitening does not alter the strength of your teeth, it merely removes the deep staining from inside our teeth giving a whiter and brighter appearance.

There ar emany different whitening systems on the market today.  Commonly, there are three different levels of teeth whitening.

(1) In-Surgery Teeth Whitening at the Dentist.  A In-Surgery Laserbrite Whitening Procedure takes only three runs of eight minutes to whiten and brighten your teeth during a one hour appointment.  There are many equal systems on the market such as Zoom, Britesmile and Quicksmile, however we have consistently used Laserbrite for over a decade now because we find it causes less senstivity on your teeth, with great results, and no risk of burning your skin.

(2) Home Whitening Systems from the Dentists.  Today there are many different concentrations fof whitening solutions to use, but in general to get a good result with Home Whitening you will need to commit to wearing Thin Trays and Whitening Gel for 1-2 Hours per day for up to 14 days.  Home Whitening can get comparable results to in-surgery systems, however the key is that you will need to commit to proceeding with the full treatment.

(3) Ineffective Supermarket and Beauty Salon Whitening.  These systems are ineffective because of the low concentration of whitening solution.  In this category I would include whitening toothpastes, which do not whiten your teeth significantly, they rather help remove very superficial stains from the surface of your teeth.
